This document serves as contract between the Client (a person, a family, or couple) and photographer Angela A. Stanton of StantonPhotoStudios.
StantonPhotoStudios is a sole proprietorship, owned and managed by photographer Angela A. Stanton. Please print this document and fill in the information left blank on all lines and sign every page; place X on lines where multiple choices are offered. The person responsible for purchasing the event must sign the contract everywhere it is indicated.
Reservation of your photographer
Reservation of your photographer is necessary several months in advance to ensure that the photographer is not already booked on the day of your event photographing someone else! Reservation fee is a commitment on your part that you have requested a service and you are reserving the photographer for a specific length of time. Reservation is nonrefundable. The amount you pay as your reservation commitment is applied toward the full payment of the package you purchased. If the event is postponed, your reservation may be moved to a new date but you need to confirm that the photographer is free that day.
Reservation includes the signing of this contract and mailing it to the photographer with the reservation fee attached.
For all photo sessions under $1,000 in price please pay full amount as your reservation commitment. For events of $1,000 and over please pay $500 as your reservation commitment. Reservation includes the signed contract and payment. Full payment is due one month prior to the event.

Most locations in Southern California require a permit for photography. If a permit is necessary for the photo session, the Client understands and agrees to pay the costs associated with the cost of the permit.

Client Participation
It is important to note that a photo session is hard work on the part of the Client as well as the Photographer. The Client’s participation is requested and includes the following: presents him/herself dressed in a professional manner, shows “good mood” and “good manner”, and follows the photographer's posing guides during the photography session. The Photographer cannot be held liable for photographs not taken because of the Client’s lack of participation. The Photographer also cannot be held liable for photographs taken/not taken of the Client making inappropriate faces or taking on inappropriate poses in public. The Client is encouraged to request specific images wished for and to suggest specific locations and poses as they have envisioned.
In case of wedding photography, the Client understands that while taking photographs by all guests is encouraged throughout the wedding, during the formal and romance sessions immediately before/after the ceremony the photographer must have clear access to the bride and groom and all of the members of the bridal party and family who will be photographed in a formal setting. For this particular time all guests must be asked to leave so that the photographer can finish her duties in a timely manner. It is the bride and groom's responsibility to ask their guests to leave and let the members of the family, bridal party and the couple be fully participating in the photography session.
StantonPhotoStudios is not responsible for photographs that were not possible to obtain as a result of lack of time. Formal photography takes time--everyone in the group needs to pose, stop blinking at once, etc. The more people in a particular formal session the more time it takes to arrange for a quality photograph. If you selected formal photos or mixed formal and candid, please expect, at a minimum, 30 minutes of photo session time after your wedding ceremony and before the reception. Ideal length of time allotted for photography between your ceremony and reception is 45 - 60 minutes for formal photos with members of the bridal party and family. Add an addition 30 minutes to one hour for the romance part of photography with only the newlywed couple immediately after the wedding ceremony. If you chose "journalistic style" only for the event to be photographed, there will be no posing and no formal sessions after the ceremony and so no pause time required for photography.

Under the Copyright Law of the United States and Related Laws Contained in Title 17 of the United States Code (October 2009), the copyright to the photographs remains the property of the photographer. This law states that the Photographer is the sole person authorized to modify, edit, or sell for commercial purposes the photographs created*.

The Photographer’s Rights
As the legal copyright holder, the photographer may use any of the photographs chosen by the Client as “good” (pictures not requested to be deleted) as part of StantonPhotoStudios' advertisement, contests, displays at shows and/or galleries. Any of these pictures may also be modified and used for lawful and legal commercial purposes by the photographer. Some photos from the Client's event will be shown on StantonPhotoStudios samples folder on StantonPhotoStudios website, blog and facebook fan page. Some photos of exceptional beauty may be used by StantonPhotoStudios as album page samples both printed in album and also posted on StantonPhotoStudios website.
This requires a "Model release" with the Client’s signature and is detailed below.
Model Release
This contract serves as a model release giving the photographer the irrevocable right to use the photographs without restriction as to changes or alterations for advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition, or any other lawful purposes. The Client waves any right for any credit or monetary compensation for the photographs. This release is binding on the Client, their legal representatives, heirs, and assigns.

Client’s Right - Special amendment to serve our Clients
Because the US Copyright Law does not provide any right to the photographs by anyone other than the photographer, StantonPhotoStudios is providing this amendment to the right of the Client:
The photographer hereby grants the Client special rights for private use. Such private use constitutes the following: the Client may make prints of any size and type for display in their homes and the homes of their friends and relatives; the Client may offer any and all pictures as gifts to friends and relatives both in print and in electronic download. The Client and the Client’s relatives and friends have free access to download electronic photographs of the event in high resolutions from StantonPhotoStudios website, provided the Client shares the password. It is the Client’s right to share the pictures with whomever so long as “private use” requirements are met by all with whom the Client shares the photographs. Under no condition may any of the pictures be used for sale by the Client or any of the Client’s friends and relatives, nor can any of the pictures be modified or altered in any way by anyone other than the photographer who holds the legal copyright.

Client______________________________ or bride____________________________________ and groom_____________________________ hires StantonPhotoStudios to be the sole hired photographer to photograph the event/session. The photographer of StantonPhotoStudios, Angela A. Stanton, may take additional photographer(s)/assistant(s) with her for the event at no extra cost to the Client. If the Client requests additional photographer(s), additional fee applies.
The photographer will provide the Client all pictures taken within the agreed upon time—typically between 4-6 weeks after the photo session. The images will be hosted on StantonPhotoStudios website in a private folder for free download protected by a password. The Client will have the chance to delete photos the Client dislikes and would not like to be visible to anyone. The Client may share the password with anyone provided that the copyright requirements are met.
The undersigned Client_________________________________ or Bride_________________________________ and Groom____________________________________ hires Angela A. Stanton, DBA StantonPhotoStudios for the assignment of photographer to provide the functions of photographer for the chosen event.
Attached to this contract is a check written for Angela A. Stanton to reserve her services as photographer in the amount of (please contact Angela for the exact amount if unsure) $___________. The remaining dues (if applicable) will be paid one month prior to the wedding or sooner.
